Lee County · Canal and inland homes
From saltwater canal lots in the southeast Cape to new homes in the northwest, we install aluminum, vinyl, wood and chain link fences built to Cape Coral's rules. We pull the city permit for you and back every install with a 2-year workmanship warranty.
Cape Coral fence installation
Cape Coral has more than 400 miles of canals, more than any other city in the world, and that shapes how a fence should be built here. Waterfront backyards need an open design near the seawall, pool barriers have to meet code, and salt air is hard on anything that can rust.
Inland lots have their own considerations: drainage and utility easements along the back property line, and burrowing owls and gopher tortoises that are protected wherever they nest. We plan your fence around all of it, from the Cape Coral Parkway and Del Prado neighborhoods to the newer streets off Burnt Store Road and Pine Island Road.
Fence types
Most Cape Coral homes need a mix: open fencing toward the water, privacy along the sides.
Our most popular fence on canal lots. Powder-coated aluminum shrugs off salt air, keeps the water view open, and makes a clean pool barrier.

Permits
Cape Coral issues its own fence permits through the city's EnerGov online portal, and its rules are stricter than most neighboring areas. These are the ones that shape most designs:
No part of a fence can sit in front of the forward-most part of your house. Lots with two street frontages follow front-yard rules on both streets.
Fences can be up to 6 feet. On waterfront lots, fencing in the rear 20 feet must be open above 3 feet, which is why aluminum is so common along the canals.
Only wood, aluminum, vinyl and chain link without slats are allowed in utility and drainage easements. Every permit also needs a burrowing owl and gopher tortoise affidavit.
We prepare the application, the affidavit and the drawings, and pull the permit for you. A home has to be built on the lot before the city will permit a fence.
Canals, storms and wildlife
Salt water, summer storms and protected wildlife all affect how we install a fence in the Cape.
Near saltwater canals, we steer you toward powder-coated aluminum and vinyl, which won't rust or rot.
Burrowing owl burrows can't be disturbed without a state permit, and gopher tortoise burrows need a 25-foot buffer. We lay out posts to stay clear.
Posts are set deep in concrete for the height of your fence so it holds up through hurricane season.

FAQ
No. Cape Coral doesn't allow any part of a fence in front of the forward-most part of the house. We design your fence to start at or behind that line.
In the rear 20 feet of a waterfront lot, fencing must be open above 3 feet. Most homeowners choose aluminum because it meets the rule, resists salt air and keeps the view.
Yes. The city requires a fence permit, filed online with a burrowing owl and gopher tortoise affidavit. We handle the application and pull the permit for you.
Usually, if it's wood, aluminum, vinyl or chain link without slats, though extra limits apply where there are underground drainage pipes. We check your property before we quote.
